Radio Swan Release

A Collaboration with Local Artist Tony Fitzpatrick

We couldn't be more excited about this next can release. On Tuesday, July 18, we'll be releasing Radio Swan in 4-packs of 16oz cans. The beer is delicious, but it's also done in collaboration with kick-ass, local renegade artist Tony Fitzpatrick. If you don't know of his work, check it out.

Tony's been a friend of the brewery for a while. “I’ve always wanted to have my art on a beer can. That way I can reasonably ensure my friends and family will see my work." Jokes aside, Tony was drawn to the project because, in his words: "Forbidden Root is a Ukrainian Village neighborhood joint, and I’m a neighborhood guy.”

So we sat down with Tony to develop the idea of pairing his craft with BJ's. After discussing beer profiles and artwork, liquid gold was born in the form of Radio Swan, a beer inspired by Tony’s collage of the same name.

Radio Swan the beer is a 6.4% NEIPA brewed with rye malt, Mosaic and El Dorado hops, and a touch of lactose. It has dank aromatics with a touch of bright fruit. A creamy mouthfeel starts out sweet and juicy, and then rounds out to finish dry with an echo of rye complexity. Radio Swan is the first beer in the collaborative series and will be followed by Atomic Child and Night Moth later this year.

We’re honored to work with Tony and can’t wait to share our collaborative beer at the Radio Swan launch party on July 18. Radio Swan goes on sale at 6pm. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase 4-packs (limit two per person), a limited edition tote featuring the Radio Swan artwork, and Forbidden Root glassware. All profits from the sale of non-consumable merchandise will benefit LaBagh Woods.
