We are now open for service, but are still offering both carryout and curbside pickup! We take the health and safety of our customers and staff very seriously and have established the following additional protective measures:
We are using disposable menus and have increased the use of other disposable items.
Our staff are wearing masks and we require you to wear a mask/face covering when not seated or when interacting with staff.
Our maximum party size is 6, and our capacity is limited. We will not be combining tables or adding extra seats and are respecting social distancing guidelines.
We have hand sanitizer throughout the restaurant.

About Our Food
“My approach to the food at Forbidden Root mirrors that of my friends Nick and Phil in the brewery. The idea of taking something ordinary and exposing it as extraordinary. Approachable but inventive, comforting but refined. Good food to me is food that makes you happy. I pride myself on using the best ingredients available and employing the best techniques to bring extraordinary food to our guests that they will truly enjoy. ”
- Executive Chef Daniel Sherron
Whether you're celebrating a birthday, hosting a rehearsal dinner, or enjoying a happy hour with colleagues, we have the perfect space for you!
Please visit the Private Events page to learn more about our packages and options.
Take our beers home with you in the 32oz or 64oz vessel of your choice: a double-walled, steel growler or traditional glass growler. Thanks to our state-of-the-art, counter pressure filler, your beer will last up to 60 days if refrigerated and unopened. (We doubt you’ll be able to wait that long, though.) As with all growlers, once opened, beer should be consumed that day.
As a benefit corporation we take giving back seriously. 100% of the profits from our non-consumable merchandise currently go to Green City Market.
