Love Handle: Right Bee Cider

Drinking for a Cause

For our next Love Handle, we’re thrilled to partner with Right Bee Cider, a Chicago-based duo creating unique, unfiltered, dry cider. Right Bee Cider was born when Katie Morgan and Charlie Davis were introduced by a mutual friend. A professional brewer at the time, Charlie tried to woo Katie by making her a hard cider for her birthday. They’re now married and co-owners of Right Bee. Their 5.7% all-natural and gluten-free cider is now on tap, and $2 from every glass we sell will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

The CF Foundation is the world's leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis, a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. The disease causes a thick buildup of mucus in the lungs, pancreas and other organs, which leads to infections, extensive lung damage and, eventually, respiratory failure. According to the website, “nearly every CF-specific drug available today was made possible with the organization’s financial support, and through its efforts, the life expectancy of people with cystic fibrosis has doubled in the past 30 years.”

Right Bee and Forbidden Root recently participated in Festiv-Ale, a beer fest and fundraiser for the CF Foundation. All proceeds raised went to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's mission to find a cure.

And if you haven’t yet heard about our Love Handle, feel the love.
